One day Anni was twirling and singing one of her original compositions.
"It's my gift!" she declared.
Dizzy, she fell with spectacular gracelessness.
Laying on her back on the tile floor she began flapping her arms and legs
as if she were making a snow angel.
"Falling down is also a gift!" says she.

Anni in sunglasses (and a fuzzy headband)

This one's for Scrivener. Here's why I would write more, but am currently rocking my little fever-ridden Annika in my lap while she ooohhh's over pictures of herself.

Precious! I loved the Easter video, too. I'm sorry to hear that Annika's sick again. :(

She is adorable too--and I don't think it's really about the glasses!

Am I right that they came as a "toy surprise" in some kind of kids meal thingy? Can you tell Phantom where to get a pair too? We could get a meme going.

Yes, they were a McDonald's toy, back when they were doing the "That's So Raven" toys for the girls and these weird kind of basketball thingies for the boys. I fear that that promotion is already over, but I bet there is someplace that sells old McDonald's toys on-line. Somehow, some way they (McDonald's toys) seem to be a big draw at garage sales around here. Is that a sign that we need to move? Or is it reassuring?

um, it's not reassuring in my book. Don't know if it means you need to move either, but not reassuring...

I really want these sunglasses now. Am willing to fight Phantom for them. We do have a bunch of big black glasses designed to make kids look like Harry Carey .... a free promotional thing we got at a Chicago Cubs' game.

OK, reassuring does sound a bit strange now that I read it again. But what I meant was that perhaps it was rather endearing that people around here get caught up in collecting McDonald's toys (rather than, say, art or something more highbrow). But endearing sounds condescending, which my child in those glasses should certainly keep me from being. So, oh, whatever.
