One day Anni was twirling and singing one of her original compositions.
"It's my gift!" she declared.
Dizzy, she fell with spectacular gracelessness.
Laying on her back on the tile floor she began flapping her arms and legs
as if she were making a snow angel.
"Falling down is also a gift!" says she.

I just ran a spell-check on my last post below, and my Mac's TextEdit program suggested "Superman" instead of "Superina." As a very well-known and respected transplant surgeon, I doubt that Dr. Superina needs any such ego-boost. But just to be sure he stays grounded, Annika wanted him to know that, after her last surgery, her surgical staples were placed unevenly. Totally unacceptable. She is hoping that the next round of staples shows a more professional level of symmetry and spacing.

Thank you for letting me come and visit today. Argh...we've been there and wish you didn't have to be. Oh, I just wanted to hold Anni and rock her and make it all better...but that's what Dr. Superman (Superina) is for I guess.

Big hugs to you. Our prayers are with you.

God, Moreena, just God. I wish I had your strength. I wish for you continued resilience and I hope for Anni's full recovery. I cannot WAIT until the day when we can all say, "remember when Anni USED to be sick?" You are in my thoughts, all of you, all the time. I wish I could help.

Every day i feel sorry for myself for what we are going through, today we found out Havalah has a stricture in her hepatic artery. She's been showing zero symptoms and still has good blood flow, but it has to be fixed which is scary.
So I've been thinking the same thing I am sure you have "will this never end?" then I come here and read about Annika and think "If Moreena can deal with all they are going through, I can surely handle what we have on our plate" and then of course I also think .... "This could happen to us too" This whole sick kid/ transplant stuff is rough on all of us isn't it? Havalah got an award after her angiogram today for bravery, and I think you deserve one too. I am consistently impressed with the creativity and resilience you show in dealing with everything Annika is going through. I think both girls are lucky to have you as a mom. -Kristen

What do you need right now? Is there anything that your friends can provide that might help?
